The day's big news. Raspberry has finally given birth to a male calf who's been named Taurus.

Jamie showed Shane how to muck out the chicken house. They finished the job in one visit.

 

 

 

 

We had organised a visit for students from Mary Rose School. Here they are looking at the newly arrived bullocks.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

After the visitors had gone Adam and Jade worked hard on clearing the barn.

There's a new addition to the Soay sheep, a new lamb has been born.

 

 

 

And today, a newly born goat gets attention from Jamie.

Shane joined us for the first time. He did a fantastic job of mucking out the barn and cleaning one of the pens.

 

 

Adam was helping muck out the barn after he'd watered the animals.

Jade is helping spread the wood shavings on the floor of the chicken house.

We came back after half-term to disaster. The chickens had got into the students' vegetable garden and scoffed the lot. There was not a shred of green to be seen. So it was goodbye to the broad beans, peas, red cabbage and salad!!

So the students had to remove the cover and have a rethink.

 

 

 

Jacques has just finished feeding hay to the Soay sheep.

 

 

 

 

 

Matt and Richard had volunteered to muck out a chicken house.

 

 

 

Whilst David, James and Jacques were sorting through the rubble for the car park to get out the large bits.

Spring is on it's way and so are the baby goats.

 

 

 

We were so lucky to see a goat being born.

 

 

 

Jamie and Andrew worked hard mucking out a chicken house.

Russell had the job of topping up the water for the smaller animals.

Adam is helping to clean the animal's water containers.

 

 

Andrew and Jamie cleaned out a chicken shed and renewed the wood shavings.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Russell was also helping with the cleaning.

 

 

 

 

Katie used her initiative and cleaned the yard area by the small animals.

 

 

 

 

Jade learnt how to water the animals in the barn.

 

 

 

Andrew: I was cleaning the chicken house.

 

Jamie: I was cleaning the chicken house. I had fun doing it.

 

Katie: I was cleaning and sweeping the yard.
